Day Activities Programme

Westmeath’s Day Activities Programme is ideal for older adults who wish to stay active, in both mind and body, as well as for individuals who may be showing signs of Dementia. The programme strives to balance living at home while enjoying the benefits of being social and engaged outside the family home with the caring team at Westmeath. Our activities team have specialized training in rehabilitation and therapeutic recreation and look to provide activities to stimulate the whole body and provide meaningful moments.

Westmeath Activities Program Manager, Santashae Ascento, compiles our Activities Calendar each month with a wide array of interests. Offering daily exercises/activities structured around the individual’s abilities, these include; chair yoga, fall prevention, art, music, games, excursions into the community, baking, gardening, crafts and seasonal celebrations. There is something for everyone!

The Programme is open to members of the community from Monday to Friday and runs from 9am to 5pm.  Lunch and dessert, morning and afternoon tea/coffee is included in the daily rate which is currently $100.00. Please note there is an additional fee of $15.00 for early pick up or late drop off. Members must be able to feed themselves, walk with minimal assistance and utilize the bathroom independently.
